The Christmas Season Begins Today

Today begins the 12 days of Christmas leading up to the Feast of the Epiphany on January 6th.*  It is considered the “Christmas Season.”  The actual liturgical season of Christmas begins with the vigil Masses on Christmas Eve and concludes on the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord.

During this season, we celebrate the birth of Christ into our world and into our hearts, and reflect on the gift of salvation that is born with him…including the fact that he was born to die for us. The USCCB website has this really cool interactive calendar with doors you open for each day of the Christmas Season. You definitely need to check it out. http://www.usccb.org/prayer-and-worship/liturgical-year/christmas/

Here is another link to a printable calendar that you can put up on the refrigerator that will also keep you in the liturgical loop during the Christmas season.
