“Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.  And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.” Matt. 28:19

The Sacraments: Baptism

Baptism makes us “members of one another.”  Since the time of early Christianity, Baptism has been the rite of initiation into the Christian community of the Church.  In Baptism, the “one Spirit” makes us members of the Body of Christ and of “one another”

Baptism preparation class is required for all parents.  These classes provide parents with an awareness of the responsibilities and role of the parents and godparents in educating children in the Catholic faith.

Baptism (for infants up to six years of age)
For first time parents: The Baptismal Preparation Program consists of one session for parents requesting Baptism at the Church of the Nativity for the first time.  Please contact the Pastor to set up the baptismal preparation class at 901-382-2504.  The session is required before a Baptism may be scheduled.

For subsequent children, please contact the Pastor to schedule the Baptism. At least one month notice is required for scheduling Baptisms.

Baptism (for Children seven years and older)
Baptism of adults and school-age children is scheduled through participation in the “Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults” program.
